For 5 consecutive Tuesdays in October and November, our amazing volunteers provided one-on-one shopping sprees with each teen from Koinonia Home for Teens. We had a blast styling each teen in clothes to fit and meet their needs. Some of the teens wrote us thank you cards for us. Check it out! It will warm your heart and make you smile.

For those that had the chance to join the team on those incredible days, you know how special these teens are and how much they love free clothes and getting advice on how to look good for that special event.
As you look over this newsletter, my hope is that you will be excited about what is happening and what is still to come this year. Your involvement in Dress 2 SOAR allows lives to be transformed, even if you are behind the scenes and not working directly with the teens. Please sign up for the June Job Readiness Shopping Sprees!
We are excited to be working on our website and will have it published soon. This will allow you and I to point people to our website for info and donations! As we share D2S, we can expand our ability to serve foster teens and help prepare them for their future.
Read MoreWith these two things I chose the developed habits of getting into bed at night saying my prayers and making my bed in the morning. Those would be the micro habit pillars for developing gratitude and thankfulness. I began by saying one thing I was grateful for from that day during the night habit. And in the morning one general thing I was grateful for in my life while I made my bed. As that habit formed I added more things I am grateful for in micro (at night) and macro (morning) terms. This process also allowed me to trust in God’s infinite plan for my life and reduce stress in my day to day life. I feel more peace and my personal relationships have improved dramatically. There will be days I forget to be grateful so the rule of two is very important. If you miss a day that’s fine, just focus on not missing two days in a row. This habit is still a work in progress for me. But developing the habit of Gratitude and Thankfulness has had lasting positive effects on my mental health, faith life and personal relationships among other things. When is a better time to start developing this micro habit than during Thanksgiving!

We wanted to create a classy, elevated charity event that blended a night of fine dining, glitzy outfits and purpose filled talks about the plight of foster youth with everyone’s favorite pastime...golf. Also included in the evening was an engaging and energetic auctioneer by the name of Freddie Silveria. He brought the house down with his inspired efforts to raise awareness and funds for the program.

positive thinking mantra that will make all their goals and dreams come true. And they want
them yesterday. I think it is human nature to want things fast and easy. It is one of the core
reasons Amazon has taken over the marketplace.

Unless you can afford a billboard on the freeway, we are left hoping someone will tell us or we stumble across it in our life’s journey.
